Joel Eckert assists the firm’s corporate and individual clients in a wide range of litigation matters including commercial, construction, and land use disputes. As part of these representations, Joel has counseled clients in the software, hospitality and oil and gas industries as well as municipalities. Additionally, Joel has successfully defended clients in the health care industry in False Claims Act litigation. Joel has also represented clients in the entertainment industry in various litigation matters, has assisted parents and children with education law-related issues, and has assisted individuals and entities in sports law related matters, including issues associated with youth and collegiate soccer.
Joel received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School in May 2006, where he served as the Notes Development Editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review. In 2006, Joel won the Carl J. Ruskowski Clinical Legal Education Award. He earned his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, in Business and Economics from Wheaton College in 1999. Prior to law school, Joel worked in the office of Texas Senator Phil Gramm and as a coach for the basketball and tennis programs at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania.
