The National Business Institute is hosting this one-day seminar wage and hour requirements on Monday, December 12, 2005 from 9:00 am through 4:30 pm at the Union Station Hotel in Nashville. Boult Cummings attorney, Chuck Mataya, will be speaking at this event. Here is a summary of what will be covered:

  • Review federal, state and local wage laws, as well as recent cases and legislation
  • Distinguish between compensatory time off and non-compensable hours
  • Determine whether specific jobs are exempt, including administrative positions
  • Learn and apply the important changes to the FLSA final rules
  • Compensate correctly for nights, weekends, holidays and travel time
  • Know which wage offsets are acceptable
  • Be prepared to confidently handle wage and hour claims that arise
  • Stay within the ethical boundaries of communication and confidentiality
  • Construct effective employee retention programs

This course has been approved by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education for 7.0 Continuing Education Credits, including 1.0 hour of ethics.  Attendance at the entire seminar is required in order to receive credit.
