Margaret Cupples, William Purdy and Michael Bentley, all in our Jackson office, will be presenting at the Appellate Practice Section of The Mississippi Bar's "Appellate Practice in the Mississippi and Federal Courts." Margaret's topic will be "Appellate Brief-writing in Mississippi Courts."

The day begins with a round table discussion moderated by Michael Bentley, with Supreme Court Justices Ann H. Lamar and Leslie D. King, and Court of Appeals Chief Judge L. Joe Lee and Judge James D. Maxwell II. William R. Purdy will present an amusing and informative sketch on How Not To Do Oral Argument. Luther T. Munford, Margaret O. Cupples, Jeffrey A. Klingfuss, and George S. Luter will also speak. Vikram Chandhok from the Fifth Circuit's Appellate Conference Attorney's Program will discuss mediation at the federal appellate level. The seminar will conclude with a tour of the State Supreme Court's facilities, including areas not generally available to the public.

This is the first seminar from this Section and is eligible for 6.0 hour CLE credit, including 1 hour for ethics.
