Gordon Nichols, a partner in the Bradley Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group, will speak on fiduciary duties in Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs) at the ESOPs Rock! Fall Conference of the New South Chapter of the ESOP Association on September 19 in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Mr. Nichols has over 30 years of experience in handling a wide array of transactional employee benefits and executive compensation matters for clients throughout the southeast. He devotes a great deal of his practice to the benefits and compensation matters arising in transactions, with a heavy emphasis on health care mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Nichols also represents clients in matter involving ESOPs, other types of tax-qualified plans, and executive compensation arrangements. His work with ESOPs has included the representation of plan sponsors, trustees, administrators and service providers in a broad range of transactions and disputes.
The ESOP Association, founded in 1978, is the largest employer sponsored advocacy and education association focused on retirement savings in America. It is a national non-profit membership organization, with 18 local Chapters, serving approximately 2,500 employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) companies, professionals with a commitment to ESOPs, and companies considering the implementation of an ESOP. The New South Chapter of the ESOP Association encompasses the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
