Summary Join the Litigation Team of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP for a three-hour presentation. With 2013 coming to a close, Todd Presnell will provide an overview of the cases being filed and tried over the last few years. He will also discuss recent law department surveys regarding the division of legal work between in-house and outside counsel and invite comments and observations from the audience. John Goodman will discuss class action suits. Class actions can be among the most significant, and potentially most expensive, business realities that many companies face. Seminar attendees will learn about the basics of class action defense and settlement – including when and how to resist class certification, tips for helping defend your class settlement from objection and collateral attack, and recent U.S. Supreme Court developments. Russ Morgan and Ty Howard will provide the basics of conducting internal investigations, including ethical issues that arise during investigations, such as who is the client, and the ways to protect the attorney-client privilege during internal investigations. This course is pending approval by the Tennessee Commission for Continuing Legal Education for two hours of general CLE credit and 1 hour of ethics credit. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
