Working With State Regulators

Jr.Haydn Richards participated in a special session—themed “Working with State Regulators”—during the upcoming Mortgage Bankers Association Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Conference.

This four-day conference—held in San Diego, California beginning May 4, 2014—is one of the largest gatherings of senior legal and compliance executives in the mortgage industry. Hundreds of delegates from the mortgage lending, brokering and servicing industries, as well as officials from the federal and state regulatory agencies that oversee the U.S. mortgage industry, are scheduled to attend.

In this special session Richards provided insight into how best to work with state regulators. In addition to speaking about examination trends seen with respect to state examinations, Richards looked to educate participants—and provide useful guidance—on such subjects as:

• how examinations are determined
• what content is likely to be included in upcoming examinations
• what can be done to manage the examination process
