Copyright Infringement Involving Sound Recordings

Nashville Partner, Sam Lipshie, spoke at the AmericanaFest Entertainment Litigation Panel Presentation on September 23, 2016, along with other nationally prominent Entertainment Litigation panelists. Sam Lipshie spoke on copyright infringement involving sound recordings, the circuit split between the Ninth and Sixth Circuits as to the de minimus standard for sampling, potential U.S. Supreme Court certiorari and other topics, and presented an article to the attendees at the CLE presentation. Attendees at the presentation included music industry and legal experts also attending the AmericanaFest Conference, which drew a record 2,270 registrants, many of whom attended from other parts of the globe. 35,000 people attended various parts of the four-day AmericanaFest celebration.
