Spoke to the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants about tips on how a CPA can be viewed as more than a hired professional, but rather an integral part of the business team for the client, adding value along the timeline of a M&A transaction. The presentation included advising clients on industry trends that might affect valuation and likely sale/purchase price in a particular market, input before and during due diligence activities, input with respect to preparation of financial-related date for inclusion on disclosure schedules, and input on financial-based representations and warranties, as well as tasks to assist the client with integration of a newly purchased business or unit into its existing operations to maximize economies of scale and efficiencies.
