Class Action Changes from Outside the Courtroom

Mike Pennington will discuss class action reform efforts at DRI’s upcoming Business Litigation Seminar. Topics for discussion will include the CFPB proposing to ban the use of arbitration to prevent class actions against financial institutions and the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules proposed amendments to Rule 23 and other possible reforms for the future. We will also address the recently passed House bill known as the Fairness in Class Action Litigation Act of 2017, now on its way to the Senate.
