Men Walk on Moon – Legal Writing Tools for the Busy Professional

The Bridge the Gap series is required continuing legal education for our state’s newest lawyers. Courses are taught by experienced practitioners, and in 2020, were videotaped and available online. Margaret and Judge McCarty discussed tips, tricks, and best practices for writing persuasive, compelling legal briefs. Now more than ever, lawyers win cases not by jury arguments but by writing great briefs. Knowing that, this seminar was designed to help young lawyers focus on writing skills like knowing their audience, keeping it simple, taking time to organize their arguments, doing their homework and making their research work harder for them, and sweating the details—getting the citations and other nitpicky things right.
