On November 20, 2020, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services unveiled its highly anticipated final rules to modernize the regulations that implement the Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute. The final rules represent major steps toward removing barriers to care coordination and transforming the U.S. healthcare system into one that pays for value. The final rules apply broadly and, with one exception, went into effect on January 19, 2021. It is essential that industry stakeholders quickly get their arms around the changed regulatory landscape.

On Friday, February 19th Bradley partners Travis Lloyd and Dan Murphy discussed in-depth of the final rules. The presenters discussed the ways in which the final rules create a new regulatory framework for value-based care arrangements and clarified numerous aspects of the existing regulatory framework. The discussion also highlighted practical implications for a variety of stakeholders, including hospitals and health systems, physician practices, other healthcare services providers.
