Kevin Newsom Speaking to American Academy of Appellate Lawyers in Philadelphia

On Friday, October 9, 2009, Kevin Newsom, chair of the firm’s appellate practice group, spoke to the annual meeting of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Alongside Mayer Brown’s Andrew Frey, Bose McKinney’s George Patton, and Justice at Stake’s Bert Brandenburg, Kevin participated in a panel discussion titled “Judicial Election, Finance and Recusal Issues.” The panel focused on the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent decision in Caperton v. A.T. Massey Coal Co. and the questions left open by that ruling.
