BABC Partners David Pugh and Arlan Lewis Key Participants in Mayor Bell’s Program to Encourage Small Businesses Growth in Birmingham

Mayor William Bell and the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) hosted the inaugural class for their ABC Emerging Contractor Program, designed to equip small businesses with the information and resources they need in order to grow and succeed in Birmingham. Supplying the first lecture of the series, BABC partners David Pugh and Arlan Lewis discussed the general fundamentals of contract and business law. The specific focus of the program is to engage more women-owned and minority businesses in the growth and expansion of Birmingham. Local news channel ABC 33/40 came to the Birmingham offices of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings to speak with Mayor Bell who explained, “Small businesses are the backbone of America…whether they’re women-owned, minority businesses, or the majority businesses...when we have businesses that are growing and prospering here within our city limits and within the metropolitan area, it’s a win-win for everybody.”
