Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Anne Marie Seibel, a partner and litigation attorney in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been reappointed as co-chair of the Woman Advocate Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Litigation for the 2011-12 bar year. Her new term begins in August.

The mission of the Woman Advocate Committee is to help shape policy and advocate for change on issues affecting women lawyers. As committee co-chair and a member of the Section of Litigation’s leadership team, Seibel will further the strategic plan of the committee, provide thought leadership and meet regularly with other section leaders. Her recent appointment recognizes her work for the Section of Litigation and the Woman Advocate Committee over the last six years, including roles on the committee’s membership and mentoring subcommittees and authoring a chapter in a book published by the committee.

“Anne Marie is a thoughtful and knowledgeable litigation attorney as well as a dedicated servant to her profession through her work that includes her current position with the ABA,” said firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “We congratulate her on her reappointment and look forward to benefitting from her continued leadership in this role.”

Seibel, whose practice involves complex litigation matters including multi-district occupancy tax cases and a series of federal, state and arbitration matters related to corporate financial fraud, recently was named an Alabama Rising Star for 2011. Recognized as the state’s up-and-coming attorneys, Rising Stars are selected through peer nominations and evaluations, as well as through independent research.
