David Mixon Quoted in Widespread Coverage of Google’s Motorola Acquisition
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings partner David Mixon has been repeatedly cited in continuing coverage of Google’s acquisition of Motorola’s 17,000 patents. Recent developments have revealed that 18 of those patents will most likely serve as powerful protection against companies targeting Google’s Android. “The inventions date back to 1994 and form the heart of three Motorola lawsuits against Apple, Inc., making them among the stars of the portfolio,” Mixon explained to Bloomberg News, “They cover technology essential to the mobile-device industry, including location services, antenna designs, e-mail transmission, touch-screen motions, software-application management and third-generation wireless.” Mixon was also quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Sydney Morning Herald, and the Inquirer (U.K. Technology publication), among others.
