Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Jeffrey M. Anderson to the firm’s Birmingham office as counsel. Anderson most recently served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Appellate Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama and will practice in the firm’s Appellate Group. He previously worked at the firm as a litigation associate before clerking for Judge Dennis W. Shedd on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Following his clerkship, he worked in the appellate group at the firm of Winston & Strawn in Washington, D.C.

Anderson focuses his practice on appellate litigation. As an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Anderson handled more than 90 Eleventh Circuit appeals in criminal and civil cases. In addition to preparing motions, petitions, and merits briefs, he presented oral arguments in five Eleventh Circuit appeals. In private practice, Anderson has prepared amicus and merits briefs in numerous state and federal appellate matters, including Supreme Court cases. Anderson also has significant experience in trial-court litigation.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeff back to the firm,” said firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “The wealth of experience he brings from the U.S. Attorney’s Office as well as his time in private practice will serve our clients well.”

“Bradley Arant Boult Cummings has a deep bench of experienced appellate attorneys, many of whom have argued cases in the U.S. Supreme Court,” said Anderson. “I am proud to join their ranks, and happy to be back at the firm.”

Anderson holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and a B.A. from Furman University.
