Rod Kanter Comments on New Tax Increment Finance Law

In a March 15, 2013, online article, partner Rod Kanter, along with state officials, commented on a new Alabama law which broadens tax increment financing in the state. The “Major 21 Century Manufacturing Zone Act” allows any Alabama city to create a Tax Increment Finance (TIF) zone for a variety of industries if they invest at least $100 million on a site larger than 250 contiguous acres. Kanter focuses his practice on public finance and economic development and is resident in the Birmingham office.
