Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that it received the Birmingham Business Alliance’s (BBA) “Small Business Champion of the Year” award at the 2013 Small Business Awards banquet on October 1. The firm was recognized for its long-standing advocacy of small businesses.

“We are proud and humbled to be bestowed with this honor,” said Firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “This award is truly because of the work that James Childs, Jonathan Kipp, Virginia McKibbens and the other members of our Emerging Growth Companies Team have done to advocate for small businesses and to build the local small business ecosystem.”

Under the leadership of James W. Childs, Jr., who serves as Chairman of the firm’s Emerging Growth Companies Team, Bradley Arant Boult Cummings attorneys have assisted tenants of the Innovation Depot and trained entrepreneurs through the Entrepreneur Accelerator Program. There were five client service providers competing for the BBA’s “Small Business Champion of the Year” award.

“We at Bradley Arant Boult Cummings are proud to have been advocating for the interests of small businesses in our community since we were founded in the late 1800s,” said Childs. “In fact, we began representing many of our largest clients today when they were start-ups many decades ago. While our firm has grown over the years to more than 440 attorneys and our footprint has expanded to include seven offices across the Southeast, our strategic focus on helping small businesses has not changed. We are honored to have the privilege of continuing to play a role in helping to build small businesses.”

The BBA is a dynamic advocate, unifying voice and constant catalyst for economic development and business prosperity for the Birmingham region. For more information about the BBA, visit its website at www.birminghambusinessalliance.com.
