Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Maggie T. Watkins has joined the firm as its Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer. She brings to the firm significant experience, including multiple leadership roles in the legal marketing and professional services industries.
“We are thrilled to welcome Maggie to lead our firm’s business development, marketing, branding, and communications efforts,” said Firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “Maggie is a leader and veteran in the legal marketing industry whose deep experience and knowledge will help us continue to develop our services for clients.”
Ms. Watkins previously was the president and CEO of Meritas, a global marketing organization with a network of 175 independent law firms in 60 countries. Most recently, she was the Chief Marketing and Business Development Officer at law firm Best Best & Krieger with offices in California and Washington, D.C. She is a past chair of both the Legal Marketing Association (International) and the Association of Accounting Marketing (National), as well as a frequent speaker at legal marketing and professional services conferences and seminars.

Ms. Watkins’ past marketing experience also includes her role as Chief Marketing Officer at LECG, a publicly traded global expert services and consulting firm with offices in 15 countries. She was Director of Marketing for law firm Luce Forward, which is now part of McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP, and Vice President of the Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations for the National University System in California. In addition, she has held marketing and business positions with Ernst & Young, West, Turnquist & Schmitt, United Insurance Company of America, and Aetna Life & Casualty.
Ms. Watkins has received numerous awards and recognition, including the Salvation Army Woman of Dedication Award; the Marketing Professional of the Year for private companies and the Women Who Mean Business Awards, both from the San Diego Business Journal; and the Girl Scouts of America Cool Woman Award. Additionally, San Diego Magazine recognized Ms. Watkins on its “50 to Watch” and “Women Who Move the City” lists.
Ms. Watkins holds a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles.
