Anne Marie Seibel Confirmed to ABA Section of Litigation Leadership Roles
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Birmingham partner Anne Marie Seibel has been appointed by the American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Litigation as Co-Chair of the Section’s Regional Meetings Committee. Seibel was also reappointed as the Section’s liaison to the ABA’s Commission on Women in the Profession. Both appointments extend through the 2014-15 bar year.
Seibel’s Co-Chair role involves working with ABA staff and leadership from various committees to help develop regional CLE programs. As the national voice for women lawyers, the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession “forges a new and better profession that ensures that women have equal opportunities for professional growth and advancement commensurate with their male counterparts.”
“We congratulate Anne Marie on these well-deserved appointments,” said Firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “We commend her dedication to taking on these leadership roles in service to the legal profession.”
Seibel focuses her practice on complex litigation, which has taken her to trial in venues as diverse as Alabama state and federal courts, AAA arbitrations, and the Tribal Court of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. Her experience includes a case for Intel Corporation involving antitrust, patent, and state competitive practice claims and multibillion dollar claims for HealthSouth Corporation, which led to a $2.8 billion verdict against the company’s former CEO and a $100 million settlement with the company’s former investment bank. In the mass tort arena, Seibel has overseen hundreds of individual claims simultaneously and has served as a trial team member for Merck in a defense jury verdict. Currently, she serves as part of a national counsel team for a major facilitator of online travel reservations facing litigation across the country.
Seibel earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and also has a B.A. from the University of Virginia. In addition, Seibel received a fellowship from Bonn University in 1995.
