Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that partner J. David Pugh will serve as a keynote speaker, moderator, and panelist in the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Alabama Chapter’s inaugural Alabama Facilities Directors & Constructors Conference. Pugh serves on ABC’s National Board of Directors, is a current member of ABC Alabama’s Executive Committee, and has long been an active member in ABC.
“We commend David on his visible role in ABC’s inaugural conference,” said Firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “This engagement demonstrates his commitment to the practice of construction law and the betterment of the construction industry.”
Facility Directors from across the state will gather at the Montgomery Marriott Prattville Hotel and Conference Center at Capitol Hill to network and to identify common solutions and best practices that will contribute to the advancement of the field. Mr. Pugh will deliver the keynote speech, “Legal Pitfalls in Facility Contracts”; serve as moderator for the two-part panel discussion, “Developing Collaborative Training Programs”; and co-present the legislative briefing “Briefing on the Proposed Legislation Allowing CM/GC on Public Works in AL.”
Mr. Pugh has represented owners, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, insurance companies and sureties throughout the United States. He has advised clients at every stage of a construction project: conception, planning, performance and closeout. Mr. Pugh has drafted and negotiated contracts for several large scale projects, and he has participated in trials, hearings, appellate arguments, mediations, and arbitrations. He has also argued before the United States Supreme Court representing a pipe subcontractor involved in the construction of a natural gas pipeline in Florida and Alabama.
