Lowry Park Zoological Society of Tampa is an independent charitable organization that operates Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo. The Board of Trustees of the Zoological Society is responsible for the Zoo’s overall direction, financial health, and relationships with its constituencies in support of Zoo programs for research, education, recreation, and conservation. Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and has been named the No. 1 Zoo in America by both Parents magazine (2009) and Child magazine (2004).
