Bradley Arant Boult Cummings Partner John Parker Sweeney Testifies Before Congress on Class Action Reform on Behalf of DRI
Partner T. Sky Woodward Represents DRI Center for Law & Public Policy as Member of Delegation
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that firm partner and current DRI president John Parker Sweeney led a DRI delegation in testifying before Congress on class action reform on Feb. 27.
Mr. Sweeney’s testimony focused primarily on the need to remedy litigation where there are no-injury plaintiffs, the use of cy pres in award distribution, and the removal of class action suits to federal courts. The testimony was before the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice. The full text of Mr. Sweeney’s statement is available on the DRI website.

(summa cum laude) from the American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University.
Ms. Woodward has more than 20 years of experience defending companies in class and mass tort actions, as well as in helping companies avoid litigation altogether through strategic risk management and early investigation and resolution of claims. She received her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma, where she was a President’s Leadership Scholar. After law school, Ms. Woodward served as a judicial law clerk to a judge on the Maryland Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court.
