Brett Carter Appointed Lieutenant Colonel in the Tennessee Army National Guard

Brett Carter was recently promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Tennessee Army National Guard (TNARNG). Carter has been with the TNARNG since 2000. He was deployed to Iraq in 2004 with the 278th Armored Calvary Regiment (ACR) as the regiment’s operations law attorney. A Captain at the time, Carter received a bronze star for service related to the regiment’s detainee operations program. For the last four years, he has been assigned to TNARNG Joint Forces Headquarters as an Assistant Judge Advocate.

With his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel, Brett has been reassigned back to the 278th ACR as the regiment’s Staff Judge Advocate. Carter was pinned with his promotion by Colonel Darrell Darnbush, Commander of the 278th ACR, and his wife, Virginia.
