Labor and Employment attorney Anne Yuengert was quoted in Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Magazine regarding Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements including confidentiality and reasonable-accommodation provisions.

Yuengert, a partner with Bradley Arant Boult Cummings in Birmingham, Alabama, recommended first getting the employee who has had the seizure to agree to what co-workers should be told. “Before talking with co-workers, I like to talk with the employee first and get his or her buy-in about what to say to co-workers. Getting the employee to agree to what will be told to co-workers is key. Without the employee’s buy-in, you cannot release information about his or her condition to co-workers,” Yuengert explained.
