Bradley Arant Boult Cummings Partner Bruce P. Ely Named to 2015 International Who’s Who Legal: Corporate Tax

Firm News, Accolade

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that partner Bruce P. Ely has been named to the 2015 International Who’s Who Legal: Corporate Tax, which recognizes him as among the world’s leading corporate tax lawyers. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Ely has been the sole Alabama attorney named in the prestigious guide.

“We congratulate Bruce on this international distinction, of which he is so highly deserving,” said firm Chairman Beau Grenier. “Bruce is a superb and well-regarded practitioner who is dedicated to serving his clients’ most sensitive and confidential needs.”

Attorneys selected for the guide are experienced leaders in the international legal marketplace for corporate tax. Nominees are selected based on intensive research and independent surveys of international clients and private practitioners conducted by the guide’s publisher, London-based Who’s Who Legal, which identifies leading lawyers from more than 100 countries in 32 areas of business law.

Ely focuses his practice on three concentric areas: representing taxpayers before federal, Alabama and local administrative and judicial forums; advising companies on choosing the proper form of entity through which to conduct business in the Southeast and receive potential tax incentives; and advising companies and various trade and professional organizations regarding state and local tax legislative matters. He also devotes a substantial amount of time to teaching and writing on tax-related topics.

Ely holds a JD from the University of Alabama School of Law, an LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law, and a BS in accounting (with honors) from the University of Alabama. He serves as an adjunct professor in the graduate tax program at the Culverhouse School of Accountancy at the University of Alabama.
