Roy Campbell Named Incoming President of The Mississippi Bar
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Jackson partner Roy D. Campbell, III has become the president of The Mississippi Bar. Sworn in at the Mississippi Bar’s annual meeting earlier this month, Mr. Campbell officially begins his one-year term on August 1, 2015.
“We are so proud of Roy for receiving the honor of being elected president of The Mississippi Bar, and we offer him our congratulations,” said firm chairman Beau Grenier. “Now the entire state of Mississippi will witness what we’ve known for years – that Roy is a highly accomplished professional and leader.”
A third-generation lawyer who grew up in Greenville, Mississippi, Mr. Campbell is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers who has been lead counsel in over 100 jury trials. His listings for many years in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business reflect the high regard in which he is held by peers and clients alike. With 40 years of experience, he has litigated a variety of civil suits at both the trial and appellate levels, including antitrust claims, commercial lease disputes, contract breaches, business torts, insurance coverage and employment disputes.
Mr. Campbell also has extensive experience in defending product liability suits and a wide range of personal injury litigation, including environmental and toxic torts, medical malpractice and premises liability suits. He has served as national trial counsel in mass tort litigation and has handled the defense of suits throughout the Southeast and Midwest. He also regularly consults with corporate managers and in-house lawyers in developing litigation strategies that are, at times, company-wide, product-specific and case-specific. He graduated from Davidson College and earned his law degree from the University of Mississippi.
