Bradley Arant Partner Bruce Ely Quoted in Bloomberg BNA on Partnership Deadlines

State and Local Tax (SALT) attorney Bruce Ely was quoted in the Bloomberg BNA Weekly State Tax Report regarding aligning filing deadlines for partnership and corporate tax returns with the new federal timetable. The new federal deadlines may cause complications for state schedules that do not conform to the modified dates.

“Many of us are surprised at how relatively few states are reported to have legislation pending this session to conform to the new federal filing dates,” Ely said. “There may be more bills out there than we’ve seen so far, but many state DORs believe they can change the filing dates either by regulation or administrative fiat.”
