Bradley Attorney Stuart Lott Earns Coveted Bank Regulatory Compliance Certification

Firm News, Accolade

Bradley is pleased to announce that Jackson attorney Stuart P. Lott has been awarded the highly respected Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers, a subsidiary of the American Bankers Association. Mr. Lott is one of only a small number of attorneys in the Southeast and in the country who holds the CRCM designation.

“As the regulatory landscape continues to change for banks, mortgage companies, and other financial institutions and service providers, the CRCM will enable me to add value to the firm and its extensive list of financial services clients,” Mr. Lott said.

The CRCM designation is awarded to individuals who demonstrate excellence in the field of bank regulatory compliance. Eligible professionals include compliance officers, auditors, attorneys, bank counsel, and regulators. In order to qualify for the certification, Mr. Lott had to satisfy significant experience and education requirements, pass an exam, and consent to adhere to a stringent code of ethics. Designees must also satisfy annual continuing education requirements in the field of bank regulatory compliance. The CRCM exam covers regulatory requirements related to lending, deposits, securities, bank operations, bank secrecy and anti-money laundering, Community Reinvestment Act, privacy, information sharing, safety and soundness, and compliance management.

Mr. Lott is a member of the Banking and Financial Services and the Financial Services Litigation and Compliance groups at Bradley Arant. His practice focuses on advising banks and financial services companies on regulatory compliance and enforcement matters. Before joining the firm, Mr. Lott worked in compliance at a large regional bank. He earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.B.A. (summa cum laude) from Jackson State University.
