Bradley Partner Appointed Birmingham-Southern Board of Trustees Vice-Chair

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Birmingham partner Denson N. Franklin, III was elected to a two-year term as vice-chair of the Birmingham-Southern College Board of Trustees.

“My tenure as a trustee thus far has been enriching and worthwhile beyond measure. It will truly be an honor to serve my alma mater and colleagues in this new role,” said Mr. Franklin. “I look forward to upholding the impeccable standards that have been set by my predecessors.”

Elections were made at the annual spring meeting of the Board of Trustees, and will be formally approved in June at the annual meetings of the North Alabama and Alabama-West Florida Conferences of the United Methodist Church. Ultimate authority at the College is vested in the Board of Trustees.

Mr. Franklin's primary areas of practice include corporate counsel, mergers and acquisitions, finance transactions, and federal and state securities matters. He represents a variety of clients ranging from established companies with global operations to early stage businesses. Mr. Franklin advises companies on a broad range of issues affecting their business, including clients in the information services, manufacturing, distribution and service, construction and engineering, construction materials, transportation and technology industries. He regularly counsels companies and their boards with respect to corporate governance and compliance issues. He has also assisted a number of clients in private and public offerings of debt and equity securities, including initial public offerings.

Mr. Franklin earned his B.A. (magna cum laude) from Birmingham-Southern College and his J.D. from Vanderbilt University.
