Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that David Vance Lucas has rejoined the firm as a partner in the Huntsville office. Mr. Lucas practices on Bradley’s Intellectual Property and Litigation teams, furthering the firm’s renewed focus on protecting clients’ competitive abilities and trade secrets in light of the recently enacted federal Defend Trade Secrets Act.

“We are so pleased that David has returned to Bradley,” said firm Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Beau Grenier. “As we bolster our ability to provide real-time protection for our clients against trade secret theft and cyber espionage, David’s perspective, network and background in technology will be tremendous assets to clients and colleagues.”

“I look forward to working with Bradley’s rapid response teams to counter threats to our clients’ critical capabilities,” Mr. Lucas said. “I hope to build on my track record and experience in IP, biotech and international business to provide meaningful real-time protection of trade secrets and key technologies for our clients.”

The federal Defend Trade Secrets Act was recently passed to provide a greater level of nationwide protection for intellectual property and business knowledge, and is therefore increasingly critical to businesses facing international or cyber threats. In turn, Bradley has developed a rapid response capability to immediately address trade secret threats. Mr. Lucas joins Bradley’s rapid response group to provide real-time protection against trade secret and intellectual property theft across multiple jurisdictions.
