Virginia Patterson Selected for Leadership Alabama Class XXVII

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Birmingham partner Virginia C. Patterson has been selected for the 2016 - 2017 class of Leadership Alabama. Participants are selected based on their leadership abilities, career accomplishments, volunteer activities, contributions to the community and commitment to help shape a better Alabama.

Leadership Alabama is a statewide, nonprofit organization that annually selects a class of 50 -60 participants for numerous educational retreats over a nine-month period. Collectively, these programs present the many social, economic and governmental complexities associated with issues facing the state to stimulate inquiry, analysis and avenues for involvement. Leadership Alabama’s program is based on the belief that knowledge is a key element and prime motivator of leadership. Since its founding in 1990, more than 1,000 citizen leaders in Alabama have participated in the Leadership Alabama program.

Ms. Patterson's law practice focuses on the corporate, business and securities area. She advises clients on a wide variety of business issues, including organizational matters, corporate governance, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, debt and equity financing and securities law compliance. In addition, Ms. Patterson has considerable experience in debt restructuring, securitization transactions, formation of domestic and international joint ventures, licensing, and domestic and international product distribution matters, as well as business acquisitions involving targets who are either financially distressed or involved in domestic or foreign bankruptcy proceedings. Her clients span a broad range of industries, including soft drink bottling and other beverage distribution, print and other media publishing, real estate development, finance, management and leasing, construction, manufacturing and retail activities.
