Bradley Partner Named To Alabama Supreme Court Committee
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Birmingham partner Marc James Ayers has been appointed by the Supreme Court of Alabama to the Alabama Pattern Jury Instructions Committee.
“I am honored and privileged to serve Alabama’s judicial system as a member of the committee,” said Mr. Ayers.
The Pattern Jury Instructions Committee evaluates the state of civil law, considers changes to the pattern jury instructions for civil cases, and makes recommendations to the Supreme Court of Alabama. Mr. Ayers will serve a three-year term.
Mr. Ayers is a member of Bradley's Appellate Litigation team, representing individual, corporate and governmental clients before state and federal appellate and trial courts. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America in the field of Appellate Law, and has handled numerous appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeals, the Alabama Supreme Court, the Alabama Court of Civil Appeals, and many other state appellate courts around the country. He has also represented clients on petitions for certiorari and amicus curiae briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court. From 2008-2010, Mr. Ayers served as Chair of the Appellate Practice Section of the Alabama State Bar. He currently serves as General Counsel to the Alabama Senate Republican Caucus, and is a member of the Amicus Curiae Committee of the Alabama Defense Lawyers Association.
