Jimmy Long Appointed to AIFT Board of Trustees
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Jimmy Long, a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the American Institute on Federal Taxation (AIFT).
Mr. Long was appointed at the AIFT’s 41st annual conference and board meeting held in June. The AIFT is a tax-exempt organization whose function is to advance the knowledge of federal taxation through programs of study. The AIFT’s board is composed of certified public accountants and attorneys representing the entire spectrum of tax practice in order to ensure that all viewpoints are represented in planning the program.

Mr. Long assists clients with state and local tax compliance and controversy matters, including income, franchise and transactional taxes. In addition, he has an active economic development practice in the area of tax incentives and credits, with particular emphasis on federal and state new markets tax credits and historic rehabilitation credits. Mr. Long earned his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Alabama School of Law. He also holds a Master of Laws in taxation from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University.
