Bradley attorney Aron Beezley was quoted in Law360 on important government contracts policy to watch for in the second half of 2017. Acquisition reform proposals in the latest National Defense Authorization Act, potential changes to small-business programs, and the pending implementation of contentious U.S. Department of Defense rules are among the policy provisions that government contractors should look for. A report from a panel studying the impact of bid protests on DOD contracting and mandated by the NDAA is also expected by the end of the year.

"The study is basically looking at whether or not delays caused by protests can be alleviated in any way, [and] whether or not frivolous bid protests are prevalent, and if so, what can be done," Beezley said. "And I think there's been a lot of pushback on these perceptions from the procurement community. While the protest process is not perfect, the alternative is corruption and a lack of transparency and accountability."
