Joseph Mays Jr. Elected American Bar Foundation Fellow
Bradley is pleased to announce that Joseph B. Mays Jr., a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation (ABF).
“We are thrilled for Joe on his election as a Fellow of the prestigious American Bar Foundation, and we look forward to his continued leadership on important legal industry and justice matters,” said Bradley Interim Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Dawn Helms Sharff.
A member of Bradley’s Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Mays concentrates his practice on business litigation, especially antitrust, securities and shareholder litigation; government procurement fraud litigation; and professional liability and white collar criminal defense. He has tried more than a dozen cases to jury verdict in the last decade and has been involved in numerous arbitration proceedings. Mr. Mays also has extensive experience representing major accounting firms. His accounting cases have involved tax and audit issues, as well alleged securities fraud claims.
Mr. Mays received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, his Master of Arts from Cornell University, and his Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University.
The ABF Fellows is an honorary organization that recognizes attorneys, judges, law faculty and legal scholars who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession. Membership in the Fellows is limited to one percent (1%) of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by their peers and elected by the ABF board.
