Joseph Mays Jr. Appointed to Sewanee: The University of the South Board of Trustees

Bradley is pleased to announce that Joseph B. Mays Jr., a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office, has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of Sewanee: The University of the South, a private, coeducational liberal arts college in Sewanee, Tenn. He will serve a three-year term.

“We congratulate Joe on his appointment to serve as a leader and board member for Sewanee: The University of the South,” said Bradley Birmingham Office Managing Partner Dawn Helms Sharff.

A member of Bradley’s Litigation Practice Group, Mr. Mays concentrates his practice on business litigation, especially antitrust, securities and shareholder litigation; government procurement fraud litigation; and professional liability and white collar criminal defense. He has tried more than a dozen cases to jury verdict in the last decade and has been involved in numerous arbitration proceedings. Mr. Mays also has extensive experience representing major accounting firms. His accounting cases have involved tax and audit issues, as well as alleged securities fraud claims.

Mr. Mays received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law, his Master of Arts from Cornell University, and his Bachelor of Arts from Tulane University.
