Bradley attorney Bruce Ely was quoted in the Birmingham Business Journal on some key budget issues that the Alabama business community is watching for 2019.

“Not only do we have surpluses in both budgets from this past fiscal year, but many of us expect tax revenues for the new fiscal year to surpass budget estimates,” said Ely. “The Alabama economy is humming, plus we have some one-time and some long-term revenue spurts from the new sales taxes on out-of-state vendors and simply because our income tax code conforms with much of the federal tax reform legislation.”

Ely said the 2019 session could be a busy one on the tax front, with a number of potential tax bills.
