Bradley attorney Alex Leath participated in the Birmingham Business Journal’s panel discussion as part of its Bright Perspectives event. The panel discussed how the state of business in Birmingham is evolving and the issues that must be addressed to continue economic growth in the city.
Leath: For the last year or so, I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to travel all over North America looking at some of the best that the U.S. has to offer. I’m from here — my family has been here since the 1880s — it’s home to me. I am as encouraged as I’ve ever been in my adult life as to where Birmingham is and where it can go.
I think everyone here that employs people is having a difficult time finding the people with the specific skill sets that they need. That is front and center in every site selection process I’ve been a part of over the last three years. In Birmingham, everything that we can do as a community to increase the quality of our workforce is time well spent.
