Bradley attorney Bruce Ely was quoted in Bloomberg BNA Daily Tax Report on the outlook for the new year as states attempt to recoup billions of dollars in uncollected tax revenue in the post-Wayfair world. Alabama’s DOR said it believes its Simplified Sellers Use Tax program shows it is sufficiently streamlined. But Ely said the legislature needs to pursue other streamlining efforts in 2019, such as those laid out in a 2012 study commission report, or it could be vulnerable to litigation.
