Bradley is pleased to announce that partner Dana C. Lumsden has been appointed by the Charlotte City Council to the city’s Business Advisory Committee and was elected to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance (formerly the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce).
The City of Charlotte’s Business Advisory Committee provides input and recommendations for the city’s Economic Development Focus Area Plan, with a particular emphasis on small business development, city contracting programs, revitalization of distressed business districts, business recruitment, retention and expansion efforts, and public/private partnership projects. The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance, which was formed in November 2018 when the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and the Charlotte Regional Partnership merged, focuses on recruiting businesses and jobs to the Charlotte region, as well as advocating for economic and public policy.
“We congratulate Dana and commend him for taking on these new leadership roles in the Charlotte business community,” said Bradley Charlotte Office Managing Partner Christopher C. Lam. “Combining his experience as a successful business litigator and an active participant in the city’s civic community, Dana will provide valuable insights for Charlotte’s economic development efforts.”
A member of Bradley’s Banking and Financial Services, Litigation and Intellectual Property practice groups, Mr. Lumsden focuses his practice on business litigation, including intellectual property disputes, securities litigation, investigations and enforcement proceedings, and the resolution of regulatory controversies concerning the consumer financial services industry. He advises and represents domestic and international companies, including some of the world’s largest financial institutions and manufacturers. In class action matters, he has successfully defended clients in putative class actions involving ERISA, securities, banking and consumer finance claims. In addition, he advises clients in the assessment of litigation risk.
Mr. Lumsden’s professional and civic involvements include work for and leadership on committees for the International Association of Defense Counsel, North Carolina Bar Association, and Mecklenburg County Bar. In addition, he is chair-elect of the Board of Trustees of the Charlotte Ballet.
