Inside Proposed Amendments To GAO Bid Protest Regulations

On April 15, 2016, the Government Accountability Office published in the Federal Register its long-awaited proposed amendments to its bid protest regulations. The proposed amendment that undoubtedly will garner the most attention is the GAO’s introduction of “an electronic filing and document dissemination system.” However, the proposed amendments also include very significant “administrative changes to reflect current practice and to streamline the bid protest process.” This article provides an overview of the key proposed amendments  — and offers commentary on some of the key proposed amendments.
