Ben Perry represents clients across all industries on both regulatory compliance and litigation matters. Ben has a deep understanding of the complex legal landscape surrounding data privacy and data protection, and regularly advises clients on compliance with state, federal, and international data privacy and security laws, such as CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, data breach notification laws, employee monitoring policies, and other U.S. and international privacy and data security requirements. He assists clients with privacy policies, master services agreements, Software as a Service (SaaS) agreements, data processing agreements, third-party vendor contracts, employee contracts, and safeguards necessary to affect international transfers of data under GDPR. Ben also advises bank and non-bank financial institutions on compliance matters related to a host of other federal and state regulations, including TILA, RESPA, FCRA, ECOA, and the FDCPA. On the litigation side, he represents financial institutions against a wide variety of claims both at the trial and appellate levels, including class action claims. Ben is a designated Certified Information Privacy Professional – Europe (CIPP/E) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
Ben is a regular speaker at conferences regarding the constantly shifting privacy and data-security landscape and also has served as an advisor to various fintech companies through a startup company accelerator program. His combination of litigation and regulatory compliance experience allows him to assist clients with proactively mitigating risk by identifying and crafting proactive solutions to problems before they devolve into litigation or regulatory scrutiny. Once a client is facing litigation or a regulatory investigation, Ben works closely with all affected business units to craft an early resolution to the proceeding.
