In his 17 years of practice, Jeffrey Blackwood has handled a variety of commercial litigation matters. Jeffrey has significant experience in representing life insurance companies and insurance brokers in a variety of matters, including sales practice litigation, regulatory actions and professional negligence actions. He is also actively representing broker dealers and registered representatives in investigations by FINRA and the Mississippi Secretary of State Securities Division. Jeffrey also works closely with the commercial real estate practice group and has an active practice in commercial real estate litigation. He recently represented lenders in litigation over the foreclosure of a shopping center, and the foreclosure of a fracking sand mine and processing facility. He has also represented clients in disputes over easements, real estate contracts and disputes between property owners. Jeffrey also has had significant experience with ERISA litigation. Jeffrey recently represented HealthSouth Corporation in matters following its multibillion dollar accounting fraud, with an emphasis on corporate governance issues.

Jeffrey has also been active in representing Hurricane Katrina victims on a pro bono basis, and routinely volunteers with the Stewpot Legal Clinic.
