Bradley attorney Erin Illman was quoted in Law360 on the confusion surrounding California’s new privacy law that allows consumers the right to control what data online businesses hold about them, request that the data be deleted and opt out of the sale of the information. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) took effect on Jan. 1, but businesses are still waiting on the attorney general's office to release final regulations to clear up unresolved questions.

"Hopefully the attorney general will provide a lot more specificity in terms of not just what the law says but how it needs to be implemented by businesses at an operational level," said Illman.
