Bradley attorney Peter Scaff was featured in Texas Lawbook about a trial victory that awarded his client $2.1 million in a Houston mall dispute. Scaff represented Houston Investor Muhammed Ahmed, who formed a partnership with real estate developer Sunil Mehta. The two orally agreed to purchase and develop the West Oaks Mall in Houston in 2017. Mehta breached the agreement when he illegally used Ahmed to secure the purchase of the mall and then cut him out of the deal. The jury ruled that Mehta had committed fraud, unjust enrichment and breach of fiduciary duty against Ahmed.

“I am exceptionally proud that the jury has spoken, resoundingly, in favor of Mr. Ahmed on every claim asserted,” said Scaff. “The verdict is an important step towards the recognition and enforcement of the partnership rights and benefits that were promised to Mr. Ahmed and agreed upon prior to Mr. Mehta’s acquisition of the West Oaks Mall in 2017.”
