Bradley attorney Whitt Steineker was quoted in Marijuana Business Daily on the benefits that southern states could offer to medical marijuana businesses looking to set up shop. While the medical marijuana legalization efforts remain a work in progress in the South, the region is showing signs of advancement and could offer major advantages to future businesses.

Steineker said Alabama “would be an attractive place by both the cost of plant (facilities) and the cost of labor.”’

He added that he’s heard interest from local businesses as well as multistate operators that want to include the region in their nationwide footprints.

Steineker also noted some of the state’s hemp growers are acquiring real estate and making capital investments in equipment that could enable them to set themselves up as attractive medical cannabis applicants.
