Bradley partner William C. Athanas has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA). He will be formally inducted with the new Fellows at the 2025 LCA Conference taking place October 22-24, 2025, in Laguna Niguel, California.

A litigator and former prosecutor, Mr. Athanas is a member of Bradley’s Government Enforcement & Investigations Practice Group and has almost 30 years of white-collar experience. He represents companies and individuals in government enforcement matters, focusing on federal grand jury investigations. He works extensively with clients on pre-indictment advocacy and has handled hundreds of complex criminal cases, trying more than 20 cases to verdict in state and federal courts. Mr. Athanas also counsels institutional clients to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and applicable laws and advises on anti-corruption matters for clients engaged in international business.

Mr. Athanas served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Alabama from 2006 to 2009 and was a trial attorney in the Fraud Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division from 2001 to 2005. He is a Fellow of the Birmingham Bar Foundation and is active with the Alabama State Bar, serving for more than a decade as chair of the Criminal Justice Section of the White Collar Committee.

The LCA is an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society established to reflect the new face of the American Bar. Fellowship is limited to less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers and is based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, along with superior ethical reputation. Mr. Athanas joins six other Bradley partners who are currently LCA Fellows.
