DRI Board of Directors Elects John Parker Sweeney to Role of Immediate Past President
Bradley attorney John Parker Sweeney has been elected to the role of immediate past president by the DRI board of directors. Mr. Sweeney was elected to the immediate past president role to fill a vacancy on DRI’s Executive Committee, and he will serve through the 2026 annual meeting. Mr. Sweeney was president of DRI from 2014-2015, served on the National Board of Directors, and received DRI’s Louis Potter Award for Lifetime Service to the legal profession in 2022.
Mr. Sweeney has over 30 years of experience defending major class action and mass torts involving product liability and warranty, consumer protection, environmental, and toxic tort cases, managing complex litigation and crafting tailored solutions to resolve “bet-the-company” risks for a wide range of clients. He also regularly serves as national litigation counsel, creating and supervising comprehensive defense strategies in class action and mass tort cases nationwide, most recently achieving a complete dismissal of a series of warranty class actions against an international construction product manufacturer.
