Stephen Fritz Named 2025 Recipient of Bradley’s Cameron J. Miller Award for Excellence and Community Service
Bradley is pleased to announce that Stephen Fritz, an associate in the Jackson office, has been named the 2025 recipient of the firm’s Cameron J. Miller Award for Excellence and Community Service, an annual award given to an associate who exemplifies excellence in his or her legal work, along with a high degree of involvement in community service.
The award is named for and given in memory of Cameron Miller, who passed away after battling cancer during his first year as an attorney at Bradley in June 2012. The award includes a charitable donation in Mr. Miller’s memory, selected by the recipient. This year a $5,000 donation will be made to both the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project and to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Delta.
“Stephen is truly an impressive attorney who embodies our culture of client service, mentorship, and giving back to his community, and we are proud to recognize him with this important award,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Jonathan M. Skeeters. “It an honor to continue to recognize Cam’s legacy and contributions and to see the impactful work being done by our associate attorneys throughout the Firm’s footprint.”
Mr. Fritz is a member of Bradley’s Litigation Practice Group, where he works on products liability and other tort claims, commercial disputes, and federal statutory claims. His practice frequently involves briefing dispositive motions and appeals.
An active member of the Jackson community, Mr. Fritz moved to Mississippi in 2013 with Teach for America and was recognized by an elementary school in Holmes County as Teacher of the Year. He returned to Mississippi after earning his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and remains in contact with former students and is an active volunteer with the local Teach for America Group. Mr. Fritz also serves as his church’s senior warden and as a representative to the State’s Diocesan Council.
Mr. Fritz is an advocate for pro bono work and has handled a variety of cases and organized pro bono clinics for the Jackson legal community. In 2023 he was selected by the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project (MVLP) and the Mississippi Justice Fund to serve as a member of the inaugural Mississippi Legal Ambassadors, a group of volunteer attorneys traveling the state providing free legal services to residents living in cities or towns with fewer than five attorneys. Mr. Fritz was recognized for his service with the MVLP’s Legal Ambassador Award in December 2023. He was also honored with the Pro Bono Award by the Jackson Young Lawyers (JYL) Association as well as the MVLP’s Pro Bono Award in 2024. Additionally, Mr. Fritz is involved with the Mississippi State Bar and was a member of the 2022-2023 Mississippi Bar Leadership Class. He is also active with the Capital Area Bar Association and serves as co-chair of the JYL’s Pro Bono and Community Service Committee.
Bradley established the Cameron J. Miller Award for Excellence and Community Service in conjunction with Mr. Miller’s parents, Frank and Alice Miller, and family friends, Charlie and Sheri Perry, along with their daughter Katherine. Through the award, Mr. Miller’s contributions and service to the firm and the community will continue to be recognized in a tangible way.
